Scotland based wedding photographer, Sean Myles

I’m Sean — a wedding photographer based in Scotland, with a deep love for storytelling that feels cinematic, emotive, and timeless.

My journey with photography began at eleven years old, when my sister surprised me with my first Nikon DSLR at Christmas. That single gift sparked an obsession that never faded. From that moment on, I wasn’t just taking photos — I was trying to capture feeling. Movement. Atmosphere. The quiet in-between moments that make a story feel real. Even then, I was drawn to imagery that felt more like a film still than a snapshot — and that philosophy continues to define my work today.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll likely find me in the gym, watching a new TV series, following Formula 1, or occasionally disappearing into a video game for the evening. I’m also engaged to my fiancée, Megan, who you may occasionally hear from or see helping behind the scenes — keeping things running smoothly while I focus on the creative side. At home, we’re kept on our toes by Bonnie, our energetic (and very spoiled) black Labrador.

My approach to weddings is simple: I want your day to be documented honestly, beautifully, and with a sense of cinematic flow. No forced moments. No interruptions. Just carefully crafted storytelling that allows you to relive how it felt, not just how it looked. If you value artistry, emotion, and imagery that stands the test of time, you’re exactly where you should be.

Timeless, authentic, memorable -

A big inspiration to me has been Henri Cartier-Bresson. I studied the French photojournalist during my studies in photography then in media communication. To me, Henri captures the mundane, but makes it interesting with use of lighting, composition, forced perspective and it works - his work is beautiful yet the subject is the everyday.

Six years experience, what does it do?

With six years experience, I can advise on a lot of things to help you in your wedding - if you wish to have my assistance. Experienced wedding photographers can spot a joke about to land across the room; we can see the emotion in peoples communication; we understand the queues that people tend to do at weddings. Then - we capture it. We are very observant of our surroundings, in particular me. I wish to have you enjoy your wedding day, forget that I am there and look back on your cinematic wedding gallery for years to come.
